Carol Daunt Skyring, Founder & CEO, LearnTel

I’ve recently added Skyring to my name. I’ll eventually change to Carol Skyring - but so as not to confuse everyone too much, I’m using the two names for a while.
I’m an experienced educator and businesswoman who has been involved in the design, application and effective use of eCollaboration since 1986. I was heavily involved in the foundation of the industry in Australia.
I hold a Dip T; Grad Dip Dist Ed; B Ed & M Ed (Research) - my thesis investigated the nature of interaction in videoconferencing. I’m currently undertaking an Education Doctorate to investigate knowledge sharing in online social networking (see wiki). I’m regularly published in numerous journals and am a frequent speaker at international conferences. (Access these papers & articles.)
I hold positions on, and am an active member of, numerous industry panels, boards and committees.. I’m currently the Executive Officer for the Learning Technologies User Group which provides a forum to share expertise, experience and ideas and to remain informed about developments in learning technologies and their applications.
Above is my ‘official photo’ - but I’m quite fond of the one to the right that was taken on the Amalfi Coast after the EDEN conference. I used the ‘nose’ part of it for the header of this blog.
