This is a great post called 10 Semantic Apps to Watch on the Read/WriteWeb blog.
There are a few ‘techie’ bits but in the main it’s easy to read & provides a good explanation of what a semantic app is (as distinguished from the Semantic Web).
It then overviews 10 semantic apps that are mostly still in beta.
Also read through the comments – others have added some interesting additional apps.

What we need are more interesting user interfaces. The PowerSet and cognition interfaces way to basic. What really is missing is the user interface. The Semantic Interface design coupled with the complex semantic information architecture.
